Miami University Deception Detection Database
The Miami University Deception Detection Database (MU3D) is a free resource for researchers. The MU3D contains videos of Black and White men and women telling truths and lies. Eighty targets (20 Black women, 20 Black men, 20 White women, and 20 White men) were recorded speaking honestly and dishonestly about their positive and negative social relationships. Thus, each target produced four different videos, yielding a total of 320 videos that fully cross target race, target gender, statement valence, and statement veracity. Included with the videos is a codebook providing information about the videos (e.g., length, transcript) and the targets (e.g., perceived attractiveness, trustworthiness).
